Online Monitoring and Control of Butt-Welded Joint Penetration during GMAW

Butt welding is an important link to ensure quality, and the penetration state of weld main criterion achieve this. Online monitoring control welded joints measure quality. The molten pool image monitored by a visual sensor in gas metal arc (GMAW) process, bottom width predicted regression network model. Combined with real-time method, current changed monitor real time. Butt-welding experiments different groove angles verified that proposed method could satisfactory accuracy generalization ability. For butt-welding constant 30° 45°, MAE controlled backside melt target values was 0.2603 mm 0.2620 mm. Therefore, it provides feasible for online penetration.
